In an absolutely chaotic Race to World First, Team Liquid has done the unthinkable: back-to-back US victories! The latest victim? Mythic Gallywix, whose poorly-tax-evasive goblin head now decorates the walls of Liquid’s raid hall. And the best part? They pulled it off in just 100 attempts, despite facing the kind of technical issues that would make even Blizzard’s spaghetti code look stable.

Let’s break it down. Power outages at the facility? Check. Authentication issues preventing players from logging in? Double check. Various bugs, glitches, and general nonsense straight out of a Bethesda release? Oh, absolutely. But despite every setback the universe (and Blizzard) threw at them, Liquid held strong and secured the kill while Echo watched from the sidelines, seething.

Speaking of Echo, it wouldn’t be a Race to World First without them making it very clear how not salty they are. The post-kill coping and seething were palpable, with the usual vague tweets, veiled frustration, and the classic “unlucky” copium huffing. Maybe next time, fellas.

This marks the first back-to-back US World First in a long time, and it begs the question—can Liquid secure the clean sweep and dominate all three raid tiers this expansion? Only time will tell, but for now, the crown is theirs. Gallywix is dead, the gold is flowing, and Liquid is making NA proud.
Meanwhile, Echo is still trying to figure out how to recover from their “unfortunate circumstances.” Must be tough.

Looking forward to the race in Midnight expansion!
